Uncapped Tamil Nadu allrounder Dayalan Hemalatha has been picked for the three-match One-Day International series against England Women, the BCCI announced on Monday (March 26). Hemalatha, who recently featured in the A squad for the warm-up T20s against England, has been brought in alongside Devika Vaidya with Punam Raut and Mona Meshram getting axed.
Mona registered scores of 1 and 11 in the only two ODIs she has played this year whereas Raut, who was dropped for the final ODI against Australia, also finds herself out of the reckoning with the selectors opting to make a couple of changes following the 3-0 loss earlier this month.
Devika, who has so far played eight games for India across formats, featured last in the World Cup Qualifier last year in Sri Lanka. Jhulan Goswami, who recently returned from an injury, has also been named in the 15-member squad with Sukanya Parida making way for the veteran.
England will face India A in a practice game on April 3 for which Deepti Sharma has been named skipper. The first ODI will be played on April 6 with the next two scheduled to be held on 9th and 12th. Nagpur will play host to all four matches including the warm-up.
