Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders Fantasy Cricket Preview

Rajasthan Royals vs KKR

15th Match of Indian Premier League 2018 between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders will look to keep the momentum going as they face Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Wednesday (April 18). After going down to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening game of VIVO IPL 2018, RR fought back to register two wins in a row. Our Knights, on the other hand, are coming into this game on the back of a fantastic victory against Delhi Daredevils.

KKR batsman Chris Lynn has produced two good knocks in his last two outings and could well be Kolkata’s key batsman at the top of the order alongside Nitish Rana. Rana hit a solid 50 in the last game against Delhi. Andre Russell will be the danger man in the middle order – he’s already delivered two spectacular innings in this IPL. Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav are the main KKR bowling threats for the Royals batsmen to overcome. Narine is the current holder of the purple cap with seven wickets in four matches. His unorthodox off-breaks can call the opposition all sorts of problems.

The Royals are in fourth spot in the league standings and will be hoping to push on and consolidate their position in the play off spots. Lying in wait will be a powerful KKR unit who also don’t appear to have any injury concerns. The Knight Riders are expected to keep Tom Curran in the playing eleven ahead of Mitchell Johnson.

Ajinkya Rahane’s men are on the spree of nine wins in a row in the last nine matches the team has played in Jaipur. Their win over Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore adds more to their confidence. Form of D’Arcy Short (despite getting run out in first two matches) will be their major concern. It might just be a matter of time when Rahul Tripathi or Jos Buttler get to open the innings and provide more support to their skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, at the other end.

RR’s bowling has been good, but their star player in Ben Stokes and Dhawal Kulkarni are yet to prove themselves with the bowl.

Pitch Conditions

The boundaries at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium are big, and therefore the spinners who may feature in this match – Sunil Narine (for KKR) and Shreyas Gopal (for RR) – will have an important role to play.
